Hope our colleagues in Iberia are back on the grid. It’s a shame our local power station is being decommissioned… I’m all for phasing out coal fired power as long as we have an alternative… which in the UK, I’m not sure we do 😱. Supporting 2 local litter picking gave me a positive feeling, especially meeting and spending time with other Emerson colleagues that I don't normally interact with in my daily work. Of course, cigarette butts are the most common trash that we picked-up (isn't a good idea to add a specific clean-up tax to the price of each cigarette?). the most uncommon trash is actually old bikes that people abandon alongside the streets because they don't want to pay the small fees at the recycling center.

This year our energy supplier (WWZ) has installed smart meters inside our building and now we can track our energy consumption almost in real time. Being able to monitor our consumption at this granularity offers great opportunities to reduce further our carbon footprint. next step will be to track major energy consumption drivers inside home...
