April 28 at 6:41 AMHow has Earth Month been going for folks? I'm feeling really good about the actions I've taken and helped others with. Every day, if we take small steps towards a goal, that is how we achieve it. I think this is the meaning behind the story of the tortoise and the hare.

April 27 at 6:41 AMI'm really happy with how the veg pledge went this year! We had almost 170 participants and lots of fun engament!
-
April 27 at 6:39 AMI'm still very skeptical about regenerative agriculture because the definitions and practices vary so much and there has still yet to be a thorough LCA on how the practices result in lower lifetime GHG emissions or other environmental impacts like water consumption, energy use, land use (arguably higher), eutrophication or acidification.

April 26 at 10:06 AM4/26: This may be an odd time to bring this up, nearing the end of the month and the completion of this challenge... but I'm uncomfortable with the "175 points for $35 donation." April 26 at 9:06 AM4/26: I'm tired of carrying my trash! Even though the food has been composted (and the napkins with them), there has been plenty of non-compostable/recyclable wrappers. I know food needs to be treated with specialized concerns and wrapping and packaging food is important, especially since COVID reminded us all how easily pathogens can be...

April 26 at 5:34 AMOur rain barrel in action! In advance of my hip replacement, we replaced our front steps because they were falling apart. We used a wood-like product called Timber Tek that is made from recycled plastic and is recyclable, though it could last for 50 years eithout needing to be replaced. We used FSC wood for the railing and the stand that the...

April 26 at 5:29 AMNative species in my area like Pacific Madrone trees are harder and harder to grow in Portland, OR as the climate changes. The winters have more freezes and the summers have more 90+ degree days. We are thunking about planting more species from just south of here like northern California poppy to hedge against future change. Fortunatelh some...
