Native milkweed is a great addition to any butterfly garden; the monarch caterpillars have already eaten all the leaves from the milkweed plant. The coreopsis in the background (picture 3) is native for FL and uses very little water once established. Although cosmos (picture 2) is not native to FL, it requires minimal water and is a great...

Today is the last day of EcoChallenge for April 2024. However instead of being sad I chose to be grateful. To take what I have learned all month is great. To see what others have done across our planet is inspiring. Hugs and love to everyone who participated.

I have been enjoying this EcoChallenge very much. Learning about what others think and feel is pretty neat, too. Tomorrow is our last day for this challenge, but it is the beginning of much greater things to come. My journey this month has been great. Now onto to even bigger and better!

It was challenging this year as I was very busy with traveling this month. However, I have learned some ways of improving my awareness of the environment. I also spent an hour picking up trash from a local ditch - which is now filled with wildflowers and hardly any trash in sight! That's gratifying.

I am quite careful about my seafood choices, but I learned how to choose the right salmon. I need to ask the questions!

Started outside to work in the garden. The day was a overcast and it looked like it might rain, which it did eventually....Oh, I saved the planet from a few more water bottles, too.

My report for today includes working outside trimming the azaleas, continue to pull weeds, and general overall maintenance of the yard. It is a good task and one that makes me feel really good when finished. It also includes using my water bottle instead of plastic one.

Only 5 days left in EcoChallenge. Today the sun is shining in my part of Florida. I have a luncheon to attend with my other book friends, and who knows what else will greet me. It is a very good day, indeed.
