Itr's estimated over a billion water bottles are thrown away each year. Even if they were recycled, that still uses energy and resources from the earth. I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

We need to support healthy seafood populations. I will spend 45 minutes learning about sustainable seafood choices, commit to making better seafood choices for a healthier ocean, and share what I learned on the feed.

Anne Newman 4/19/2024 9:53 AMThe day was pleasant and sunny outside. I am so glad to be feeding the birds and making them happy. Then it makes me happy to be using my water bottle and helping save the planet from the interlopers who do. It's a win-win! -
Anne Newman 4/17/2024 8:39 AMWe've just crossed the half-way mark by 2 days. It has been so refreshing to hear what others are doing re Ecochallenge. I am so looking forward to this Sunday--Earth Day Sunday--at church. The committee has done a wonderful job of cleaning up the Butterfly Garden. We have a few surprises for Sunday...but I shall not tell! -
Anne Newman 4/17/2024 8:33 AMToday, April 16, is the National Faith + Climate Forum. It was amazing! To be apart of this endeavor was a pleasure, a joy to hear what others said, and to participate with like-minded people. We covered a lot of territory here in Gainesville, FL, with so many others who searched like I did. The speakers brought things for us to pursue. Our host, Temple Shir Shaloam, was terrific. It made for a great day! -

We have so much plastics in our daily lives that turning off or keeping away from plastics is futile. Yes, it is difficult to do, but it starts with me, and you, and . . . We've got a lot of work to take care of. -

And because I am not always home I practice what I think is good care of and for our earth. Case in point: putting out the trash shows that it is important to me to be helpful and take care of our planet. One small step . . . is true. Keep up the goodness by caring for our earth. -
Anne Newman 4/09/2024 12:50 PMBeing able to participate in EcoChallenge is something I've wanted to do. . . and now I am doing it! Helping to save our planet is quite a task. One could assume there are many on our planet who do not have internet connections, but to those of us who do, great. And being able to to post our results on a daily basis, well, that is a bigger "great." It sounds like a win-win! Thanks for reading.
