Farmers markets are a great place to meet people who practice sustainability, this past weekend I met a honey bee keeper, he had several products from his bees, but also was able to teach on bee friendly practices in our area

We walked the area surrounding our home location which is two state parks and a large cemetery. We used our exploration to complete another task of picking up trash as we went along. We took a walk along the two parks and cemetery that border our residence picking up the trash as we went. We were asked by a few why we were doing this and who we were with. We explained and were rewarded with thanks, that is how it connects us to our community.

I feel education is the best approach for and region/household to prepare for the changing water situations. If people know what is happening, understand the direct effect on them and their immediate environment, most will become actively involved.

My husband and I work opposite hours, so our meals are separate, it has been so complicated trying to create a healthy meal plan for both of us, that is not time-consuming or expensive. During this challenge we discovered a step up to meal planning. We each choose two meals that are healthy and can be cooked ahead, we cook them all on Sunday...

I am exhausted planning two events for next weekend. But I love the sense of community that I am getting from the eco challenge! I want to share with students next year.

It shows the students at our school that I care. It also connects me to them in ways because I am out there with them during my free time. It stats the conversation of waste sorting as well!

My Earth Month eco challenge started today, and it is going well. Having specific goals helps me have things to work towards. It is also motivating to be part of a group!
