April 24 at 10:37 AMI did some research and it looks like the world is using approximately 1.5 billion water bottles a day!! This is a lot of plastic. We probably can not reduce it all, but if we are able to use ceramic cups or metal reusable mugs, we can sure contribute to lessen the need for such an incredible production.

April 22 at 11:16 AMI went to the lake to hang up my little sign and came away with a big bag of trash (mostly recyclables). This is a very small lake and there are no facilities or trash cans, so I think it's something I'll keep checking in on - and picking things up, if necessary!

April 22 at 9:17 AMSharing about the environment is the greatest gift we can give our grandson but seeing it through his eyes and curiosity is great but doing something is even more rewarding for our future.
-
April 22 at 9:15 AMSharing about our environment with our grandson is a start. Just talking about nature, the plants and seeing it through his eyes and curiosity is the right approach for anyone but doing something is the greater impact.

April 22 at 9:14 AMWe planted a locally sourced Queens Apple Tree for our almost 2 year old Grandson in honor of his upcoming birthday and Earth Day! He’s a lover of apples 🍎 and being outside.

April 21 at 2:32 PMCommunity can only truly be a community when everyone is involved in a common cause. Volunteering allows you to see fruits of your labor and unites you with your neighbors.
-
April 19 at 5:07 PMI don't use straws or single-use coffee cups, but I do use water in plastic bottles sometimes. I am trying to make sure not to forget to bring my reusable mug with me when I go places.
-
April 18 at 11:08 AMWorking with my children on reducing their waste and making sure they recycle as much as possible.
-
April 18 at 11:07 AMIt is definitely difficult to have a zero waste day, but I learned that waste can be reduced by recycling/reusing and composting.
-
April 18 at 11:06 AMI absolutely avoid impulsive and unnecessary purchases, especially if I need to use something once or twice.
