I attended a really interesting course this afternoon all about making the events industry more sustainable. Sustainability in trade show exhibitions is not something I've ever discussed as part of exhibiting, and I'm eager to put my new knowledge into action and see what my baseline emissions are to see if I can decrease them over time.

So while the challenge doesn’t start for another couple weeks, I’ve already supported a new-to-me local business this week. About 8 months ago, a new coffee shop near me opened up. I got the chance to go into today and met the owner *and* roaster. The space is such a vibe and she’s wonderful. Very glad to have a cool new woman-owned coffeehouse...

I'm already getting ready for next month's challenge: I noticed some stray litter on my block when I took my garbage can and recycling bin from the curb, so I picked it up and put it in a trashcan. Every small action adds up. :D

Excited to get started on this year's challenge! I'm taking lessons learned from last year - primarily related to planting a garden - that I'll be applying this year. Hoping to grow much more and actually succeed in composting this year, plus plant many more native pollinators. What are your goals for this year's challenge?
