I volunteered at a food bank, which I try to do at least once every month. In the morning, we sort leftover food from bakeries, supermarkets, and markets and give it to people in need in the afternoon. Volunteering enhances my relationship with the community because I meet other volunteers and can make friends that way. Also, I can now...

I am trying to catch the release of microplastics in my laundry with a Cora Ball, a ball I can place in the washing machine for any load that prevents microplastics and catches them, too. I have not tried it yet. When my relatives visit from the US next month, they will bring it. I'm excited to learn then and hopefully can let you know.

Impact investing or ethical investing can create a more sustainable world with a positive social or environmental impact alongside a financial return. That means that positive environmental change is beneficial for the investor! I learned that this type of investing is setting a trend among investments and leading for more transparency in the...

Hi there, I am planning to do a Zero Waste Day next Saturday. Obviously I shouldn't create any waste, but what about recyclable things? Is that still okay or do I need to invest in packaging-free items? Thank you!

Here's a log from a second audit I did. I posted a previous version of this yesterday but made a mistake and left some stuff out. Due to various reasons I am using more tissues now, unfortunately. Mouth tape Plastic bag from cereal Box from cereal Some milk, too, unfortunately Tissue x 3 Paper towels x 3 Plastic wrapper of a snack...

This is a photo log of a waste audit I did on the weekend. Obviously toilet paper is waste, too, unfortunately... Composted this loose leaf tea... Due to various reasons I am using way too many tissues currently. And I had to pick up this tape that found its way outside from my house a while ago. Tissues... And floss. I need to remember to...

I did a waste audit one day on the weekend and made sure to take photos of everything I threw away. Also, I did an audit one day at school, as I suspected that it might seem a little different. I didn't create a photo log for this day. On the weekend, I mostly threw away tissues and of course toilet paper, but I also composted some loose leaf...

As I pick up trash throughout my community, I get to know the spots that have the most trash. I might be looking for trash cans and am learning which streets are most accessible for my red wagon that has bins for collecting trash. As the neighborhood becomes more familiar to me, I am getting to know my community. I also tend to see more people...

Today I spent some time learning about true bugs (order Hemiptera). There are around 40,000 known species of true bugs in the world, around 1,000 species in Germany, where I live. True bugs come in different sizes and can have different appearances, but I learned that they all have a head, a thorax, and an abdomen. Thanks to a nature...
