It's so satisfying to declutter. I like using the local Buy Nothing group to offload my items so that my neighbors can enjoy them and they are more likely going to be used again!

I have a small kit of necessary emergency medical supplies in an easily accessible location and have mapped parts of my home that would be the safest in different natural disasters like tornadoes, flooding, and earthquakes. I also make sure that, during any extreme weather, I have a weather radar pulled up and am tuned it to where a storm cell might be and where it might be going.

I just learned about the McKees Rocks (city neighborhood) Burial Mound. It was constructed by two different Native American tribes and shows evidence of early humas and burial practices. Unfortunately, it no longer exists as the natural history museum excavated in the late 1800s. I feel these sites are very important to protect. Many sacred spaces including this one have been desiccated, removed, and forgotten by colonialism and racism. It is important to teach the history of sacred spaces created by all peoples who exist in that space.

That site was an incredibly important place of cultural significance to the Adena people. I'm so glad you had a chance to learn about some of the history and land acknowledgement. I know the Council of the Three Rivers American Indian Center does awesome education work, as well as service work for people in the Pittsburgh region. Definitely check them out if you get the chance! :)

Saw my first bumbles of the season over the weekend, but especially last night when it was so warm out, and these little purple wildflowers are peeking out among the ivy on my hillside.

My garden has been started. Picked up a tiny greenhouse from QVC on the TT shop, and large reusable planters (with wheels) at the store next to my office. Hopefully the bees love it and I'm able to keep the birds and squirrels from eating all the produce before I get a chance. We made compost piles of some of the leaves that fell last year (we didn't rake off of the grass/ivy covered areas, just what landed on my porch and steps), so the broken up sticks and leaf litter from those piles filled most of the pots, so I only needed a little bit of top soil for each planter. Fingers crossed that I get actual plants that produce things.

Airplane travel causes a lot of carbon emissions. Visiting other countries and learning about other cultures brings me joy so this is something I will not compromise on. However, I can purchase more local food goods and take more public transit to reduce emissions caused by transportation.
