Use a Reusable Water Bottle
Itr's estimated over a billion water bottles are thrown away each year. Even if they were recycled, that still uses energy and resources from the earth. I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

Smart Seafood Choices
We need to support healthy seafood populations. I will spend 45 minutes learning about sustainable seafood choices, commit to making better seafood choices for a healthier ocean, and share what I learned on the feed.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Anne Newman 4/30/2024 5:09 AMToday is the last day of EcoChallenge for April 2024. However instead of being sad I chose to be grateful. To take what I have learned all month is great. To see what others have done across our planet is inspiring. Hugs and love to everyone who participated.-

Anne Newman 4/29/2024 6:21 AMI have been enjoying this EcoChallenge very much. Learning about what others think and feel is pretty neat, too. Tomorrow is our last day for this challenge, but it is the beginning of much greater things to come. My journey this month has been great. Now onto to even bigger and better! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFreshwater + Oceans Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Anne Newman 4/29/2024 6:14 AMIt was an eyeopener while reading about fish. I live in Florida which is surrounded by water. We have red tide that is highly toxic to fish, yet we still eat fish. Being aware by reading up on this subject leads me to believe I am making good choices. -
Anne Newman 4/28/2024 6:48 PMStarted outside to work in the garden. The day was a overcast and it looked like it might rain, which it did eventually....Oh, I saved the planet from a few more water bottles, too. -
Anne Newman 4/26/2024 6:18 AMMy report for today includes working outside trimming the azaleas, continue to pull weeds, and general overall maintenance of the yard. It is a good task and one that makes me feel really good when finished. It also includes using my water bottle instead of plastic one.-
Clarissa Matriz 4/26/2024 6:25 AMit sounds like fun!

Anne Newman 4/25/2024 5:51 AMOnly 5 days left in EcoChallenge. Today the sun is shining in my part of Florida. I have a luncheon to attend with my other book friends, and who knows what else will greet me. It is a very good day, indeed. -
Anne Newman 4/24/2024 5:37 AMEarth month ecochallenge 2024 is going great. I've helped save 76 water bottles from the landfill thus far. Every little bit helps our planet. I have still got a few more days for EcoChallenge...but then the rest of the year in which to help save whatever I can.-
Frank Scheuermann 4/24/2024 5:53 AMI totally agree. Keep challenging.

Anne Newman 4/24/2024 5:17 AMWelcome to another sunny day outside. It is a little after 8:00AM and I am ready for whatever the day brings. I will let you know tomorrow what I discovered. -
Anne Newman 4/22/2024 6:29 PMToday is Earth Day. It is a lovely, sunny day outside. In honor of this day, my sister and I took to pulling weeds in our front yard getting it ready for mulch. In a couple of weeks we plan to have the mulch spread. Voila, the yard is ready for another year!
