April 25 at 7:37 AMI've never asked in a restaurant before where their seafood comes from before I order it. That is definitely a step I can take. We don't eat much fish - but I like the idea of eating fish that is abundant and less sought after. Not a fan of mussels - but knowing that they are more sustainable makes me what to investigate more.
-
April 25 at 7:00 AMLearned the recycling rate for plastics. Committed to learn about how to reduce my plastics footprint.
-
April 24 at 7:35 PMReducing waste through biodegradation, repurposing products and rethinking our economic infrastructures. Transportation method during high pollution in Arizona is broadcast days before notice of the events. Water distribution network is worrisome in Arizona due to drought, so conserving usage.
-
April 24 at 12:12 PMSent letter to my 2 Illinois senators and 1 congressman about passing Injury and Fatality Prevention Act due to increase heat related risks.
-
April 23 at 6:11 AMOn Sunday I planted tomatoes, jalapenos, onions and potatoes. This is my first attempt at a small garden. If all goes well, we will expand it next year.
-
April 23 at 5:04 AMI had collected seeds last year and let them over-winter outside in a protected container. I had some bee balm seeds that I planted in a new area where I dug up some of the lawn to extend my wildflower garden. I hope to see hundreds of buzzing bees on the new plants in a month or two!

April 22 at 8:42 AMThis Earth Day, why I conserve is that others may enjoy a crisp cold morning outside among the trees. That's what I did this past weekend.
-
April 22 at 6:29 AMI live next to the national forest where many people come to recreate. Unfortunately, there is often trash left behind. I spend one day every month cleaning up the forest.
-
April 22 at 5:22 AMI love the idea of cover crops after the year's harvest is done. I will do more research into this idea to see what might be right for our latitude. I love to watch things grow at all times of the year and any cover crops that are good for the pollinators is exciting to me!
