My favorite part of the eco challenge was going outside. I got to play with my dogs in the sunshine, and it brought me much joy! how about you all? :)

The Eco-Challenge that we did for class this past April taught me a lot more than I anticipated. Growing up I always understood the importance of recycling and the everyone going green all of a sudden, but I wasn't aware of how dedicated the world is to preserving the Earth and promoting health. I paid more attention to my carbon print and my...

By cutting just a few minutes off my shower, I was able to save gallons of water each day helping the environment and lower my utility bills.

I think the hardest part for me is checking in on the day of. I’ve been really good about doing all of the daily actions because I put reminders on my phone and I’ve been able to integrate them as habits rally easily. I’ve had to go back and add all of my details retroactively instead of posting day of but, I’m glad I can still add it in.

What surprised me the most is that I had no idea about half of the cleaners I’m using and what’s in them. I’m also realizing there’s cleaners I knew not to use near each other and others I didn’t know can’t be used with each other. I think a lot of the information and cleaner brands I use were passed down to me and that’s why there’s so much I...

I use bags everyday so I wanted to see if I could eliminate all single use bags. This challenge has been a bit difficult trying to remember to bring a bag everywhere but I’ve gotten into the habit of it.

I love plants and every once in a while I try my hand at gardening. I think I need to learn more about plants in general. I’m trying to research more about fertilizing and watering schedules. I feel like I’m always over or under watering my plants and I have no clue how to properly fertilize my plants or what to use. I’m interested in learning...

Today, Earth Day, I decided to “adopt” a couple of plants. I wanted them to be something that could not only look interesting in my garden but, also edible. I live in apartment so I decided to choose plants that would do well in a container garden. I picked tomato, zucchini, and snap pea plants because they don’t need as much water as some...

I’m trying to rinse and scrub my dishes as soon as I make them and the load them into the washer. I think this will prevent build up of dishes and running the dishwasher unnecessarily.
