This is my last “blog” post for this year’s Ecochallenge. It was so nice engaging with you all!

We visited Michigan’s state capital today, Lansing. It was a beautiful day! My son was impressed by the cleanliness of the roads and pathways between the House of Justice, Senate and House of Representatives 💚 I was impressed that he noticed that lol

We did it! We completed this ecochallenge. I set my phone daily to remind me to log in. On Mondays I logged any challenges I did over the weekend. I made an effort to research and review all the information in the "Reflection" entries to give you a written reference and my view. I learn this time to just commit! Our lives would be so different if we just committed to our promises. I learning to count on myself (with God's support) so I can show others they can count on me too. Truthfully, the water footprint may take me a couple of challenges, but I will continue to be more aware of my actions.

Hello Comerica Eco challenge team. It has been wonderful participating with all of you. I have worked on some things and learned new things from you who have shared your experiences. It is another beautiful day in SE Michigan today and a nice cool breeze and I took a walk on my morning break. I look forward to implementing some changes in my own daily life journey. I challenge everyone to do the same. Consider: What one small change can I make today to contribute to making our world better?

This has been a difficult challenge for me. When I rinse my dishes, I never worried about having crusty leftovers stuck on the plates and dishes. It has been hard to let go and allow the dish washer to do the work for me.

I really like using the dishwasher and rarely wash dishes by hands. I do try to stick with running it after 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. on the off-peak hours.

We have been conserving water for some time now. I would say the community needs to pay very close attention to summertime watering bans. I have witnessed several in the community that water lawns and landscaping during bans. I would also say the city needs to enforce sanctions when these breaches occur.

It feels nice to get your hands dirty while feeling the heat of the day shine on your back. I am thankful to have planted the garden at mom's so we can benefit from it all summer. We have tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, lettuces, cabbage, brussel sprouts, etc.

I did not know that microplastics end up in the ocean and freshwater, in our seafood and water supply, and in us. The long-term effects on our health and the environment may not be fully understood but are most likely devastating. Along with all the other chemicals and biowaste, it's no wonder we have increasing cancer, autism and other illnesses.
