Fish from the Houston ship channel should not be consumed.
I used to use the Seafood Watch app to check the sustainability of fish/seafood, but it is no longer available. Their website, however, offers another way to access the information from your phone: https://www.seafoodwatch.org/recommendations/add-seafood-watch-to-your-phone

It seems that the people most impacted by polluted water are in developing countries. However, each year a report card is issued for Galveston Bay, and there are points of concern. For example, fish from the Houston ship channel are not safe to eat. The overall score for seafood consumption is a D. Some scores have improved over the years, some are trending in the wrong direction, and points of concern remain. See the report card at this link: https://www.galvbaygrade.org/

I am participating in the EcoChallenge 2024 because I believe in the power of collective action to address environmental issues and create positive change. By taking part in this challenge, I am committing to personal actions that reduce my environmental impact, promote sustainability, and contribute to a healthier planet for current and future generations. I am inspired to make a difference, and through this challenge, I hope to inspire others to join me in taking meaningful steps towards a more sustainable and equitable world.
