    I was very shocked to learn that many people in the United States lack access to clean, safe, and affordable water.  Incredible and disheartening.  While politicians talk about access to broadband internet, people can't get water.

    This challenge provided terrific tools to understand climate risk on a very local level, something I have been looking for.  Check out Headwaters Economics and Find Your Home's Flood Risk | Flood Factor. Flood risk in my neighborhood is high, and my county has significant portions of the population at higher risk.

    Today, I remembered to bring silverware with me when I met colleagues for lunch, as the restaurant in question supplies plastic cutlery.  I was pleased that I remembered.

    Most grocery products come in single use packaging. There was an initiative started, called Loop Store, that worked to combat that tendency by offering re-usable packaging for items like shampoo, but after going nationwide, they scaled back to only the New York area.  I was very disappointed.
