Action Track: Community ATTEND THE ECOCHALLENGE CONSERVATION WEBINAR
What did you learn in the webinar? Did anything surprise you?

Unfortunately I missed the webinar, but I still learned a lot this year. This is the second time I have participated in the ecological challenge and I really enjoyed spending time thinking about what we can do to preserve the planet and biodiversity.

Climate + Air Calculate My Carbon Impact
Where in your life do you emit the most carbon? What change are you willing to make in your daily life to reduce this output?

Car and plane travels are my number one cause of carbon emissions. I have already gotten into the habit of no longer using my car for journeys of less than 4km. I prefer walking. For plane journeys it is more complicated when there are long distances greater than 1000km. I reduced the quantity of long distance trips, especially those with short length of stay which make no sense.

During 30 days I successfully managed to eat all my meals meatless and no chocolate . I thought it would be harder , or that I would have some desire to eat something during this period, but no. I made it!!! And I had a lot of temptations around me…. but my mind helped me. My desire to overcome this helped me. My commitment to do this in this period before Easter helped me. So, I truly believe that all stays in our hearts and mind! I know that I’ll be able to keep some of meals meatless and also I’ll pay more attention on I need versus on what I desire. Nice challenge… nice achievements! Thanks you EcoChallenge!

Helps me to feed my batteries after a challenging day. Listening birds singing and watching how nature becoming really green is amazing and gives me extra energy!

Climate + Air Consume only Needs vs Wants
Consuming only what we need vs. what we want can be really hard to do. What has been challenging about committing to this action for a month? What have you learned about yourself? Will you change any habits going forward?

The biggest thing I learnt about this is planning. Need to decide in advance what is really needed and avoid any impulse-based shopping.
And don't take your children with you :)

Spot on, Melinda! Planning my shopping list and avoiding impulse buys has been a game-changer for my wallet and reducing waste. Although, bringing the kids can be a fun bonding experience if you involve them in making the list beforehand!

This year I learned that is so easy to change my lifestyle if I want, if I put this in my mind. It is so easy to create a habit if you know how to presented yourself as a benefit. I really encourage everyone to analyze themselves and to create healthy habits for themselves and the environment around them.

It is with mixed feelings that I am writing my last post on the feed for this year. I am of course happy and proud about the achievements of the team. I am as well sad to close this event during which we encouraged each other to change habits and put more attention on conservation.
Let's team up next year for another challenge...

Conservation efforts are making progress with many individuals from my family and people around me. We became more aware of water conservation and taking action to reduce water consumption.
