Plastic bags can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and can end up in habitats that harm wildlife. I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.

Grass lawns are water-intensive and on average require about 30 percent of a household’s water consumption. Native plants are water-efficient and help maintain the balance and diversity of local ecosystems. Hand washing dishes can use more energy and hot water than a dishwasher. To save water, I will use a dishwasher and scrape, rather than rinse, dishes before loading them into the dishwasher.

Itr's estimated over a billion water bottles are thrown away each year. Even if they were recycled, that still uses energy and resources from the earth. I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

When we explore natural spaces around us, our connections with them change. I will spend 60 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood, office, or campus (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).

Why buy something I will only use once or a few times if someone nearby has it for me to borrow, and why not share something I have that someone may only need a few times a year? REFLECTION QUESTIONLand + Forests Zero Waste DayWhat was hard about having a Zero Waste Day? What did you learn about yourself and your habits?
IULIA CADAR 4/18/2024 8:45 AMIt was hard to understand what waste I do in such way to be able to plan and adjust properly to have a zero waste day. I planned and cooked the meal with a day before , I eat fruits which can be eaten without peeling them : apples 🍎 and blueberries 🫐 and I used only tap water 💧 using a glass.
I’ll try to be more aware on this aspect and to see how can I have more days of these.-

IULIA CADAR 4/17/2024 12:41 PMI had the opportunity to see how my dish has been prepared and it so quite delicious. Pesto 🌿 with some cherry tomatoes 🍅 ,olive oil 🫒 and a bit of smashed garlic 🧄 in a pan 🍳, and after the tomatoes are getting soften , it can be added de penne pasta 🍝 with a bit of hot water 💧 from the boiling pasta, to create the sauce. Some slices of permanent on top and a leaf 🍃 of basil. So easy to make in a few minutes and delicious ! You should try it. And of course: meatless.-

IULIA CADAR 4/16/2024 1:33 PMI will bring home from Gronau nice souvenir which is produced by local producers home made chocolate 🍫 whit bio ingredients , and I surprisingly saw that it was packet in a nice paper pack.
It’s a nice way to share with my family the local tastes in a more sustainable way.

And even more important: meatless. Pasta with different vegetables and an sos of oil and garlic and the other dish with risotto with mushrooms. Yam yam 🙂
