Our garden club had our annual seedling event last week. I got tomatoes, basil, rosemary, jalapeno and poblano peppers, and a geranium. Looking okay so far! They need to stay indoors for another month or so.

I made a small pile of everything that would have gone in the garbage. It is small, but includes some recurring things like some packaging on skin care products I buy. I need to find an alternative that has less packaging than the actual container of product! And I will keep recycling and composting and saying no to things I don't really need.

It was a chilly and windy Saturday so it was a good day to visit all the Earth Day vendor displays at a nearby mall.

I have been able to explore new areas of my community as I deliver meals to people in neighborhoods I haven't visited before. I've met some colorful and interesting and primarily grateful people who appreciate my help. It has been a privilege.

I assume this is meant to be WITHOUT putting things into the landfill...I have been working pretty diligently on this action. I have taken books to a secondhand reseller, I have cleared out some closet space and dropped off a few boxes of donations, and I have filled the paper recycling container. I feel the stress melting away!!

On this day, I helped to lead a "campus cleanup" event at my EMR work site in Eden Prairie - MN - USA. Among just a few of us, we collected 4 medium sized bags of trash in a little over an hour. I think the brightly colored plastic food bags / wrappers are the ugliest because they visibly stand-out when you look across an otherwise...

On my way into the office, there were a couple sentries guarding the door. I felt bad, but I had to shoo them away.

Xcel's current program is full but adding myself to the waitlist was easy.
