    Switching to reusable bags was a small adjustment at first, and remembering to bring them with me every day took a little getting used to. However, it quickly became part of my routine, and I realized how easy the change actually was. It feels good knowing that this simple habit makes a big difference in reducing waste and supporting a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

    I have loved being outside more! Colorado is a beautiful state, and enjoying it more every day has been a joy! I usually look at the ever-growing longevity of the Earth to affect how I look at my life and the growth and longevity I have in my life.

    I find getting more sleep difficult as I take care of the household as well as working. It's so easy to be caught up in the tasks of taking care of everyone else and self care is lost in the shuffle. This provides a reminder that it's important.

    Honestly, this may have been the most impactful change I have made since joining the Ecochallenge this year. It sounds silly, but setting a timer for the shower has made me realize 1) how long 5 minutes actually feels and 2) how truly small some changes need to be to make a big impact on the enviornment. Especially living in a desert climate here in CO, saving 20 gallons of water A DAY is crazy. Im also interested to see if it impacted my water bill this month!

    How did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?

    Exercising daily, like mountain biking, is top-tier for both physical and mental well-being. Physically, mountain biking engages multiple muscle groups, improving cardiovascular health and endurance. The intense focus required on trails sharpens reflexes and coordination. Mentally, the rush of adrenaline combined with the serene natural surroundings reduces stress and boosts mood. It provides a sense of accomplishment, especially conquering challenging trails or achieving personal bests. Regular biking sessions also foster a supportive community of fellow riders, enhancing social connections and overall happiness. Altogether, mountain biking isn't just a workout; it's a holistic experience that rejuvenates both body and mind.

    Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?

    I think in the past I have fully been addicted to sugar, but this month I have cut back drastically! I no longer buy Oreos, and I definitely feel the difference! Excited for my health and the world!

      Thank you for sharing! For me, cutting out sugar has made even my coffee taste different after just two weeks—more aromatic and flavorful. That's what a no-sugar diet does—your senses really come alive!

    Since I started eating more fruits and vegetables and cutting back on meat, I’ve felt more energized and just overall healthier. It’s also satisfying to know that these small changes in my diet help reduce my environmental impact, like using less water and lowering carbon emissions. It feels good to take care of my body while also doing something positive for the planet. With that, I've been sticking to bananas, grapes, and strawberries as part of my daily intake.

    Happy Earth Day!! Every year for Earth Day, I pledge 3-4 activities I am going to participate in myself, as well as share a handful of resources/non profits on my instagram page to engage my friends and family in Earth day activities. This year I pledged to donate money, visit my local zero waste bulk store in Longmont, join a trash clean up, and attempt a zero waste weekend! I have also linked the local organizations I like to support below!
