    For the first time in quite a while, I spent most of the day outside working in the yard. While I wouldn't say I love doing yardwork, being outside for that long, with my dog and enjoying some time with my neighbors not only helped my overall mood but it left me with a sense of accomplishement.

    Look at all the compost material I saved from going to the landfill yesterday! I cut up a variety of fruit for our Easter meal and all of the peels, stems and cores went into my compost bin! That compost will eventually turn into back dirt.

    I was able to re-use masking tape on a painting project. This was a great way to recycle and re-use material that would have otherwise been thrown in the garbage.

    It's about time to start planning my garden/landscaping, so I took note of flower and shrub varieties that are native and support local pollinators to use instead!

    Our neighborhood squirrels love to get into the trash cans to find food. I noticed multiple neighbors also picking up after the squirrels and we actually started planning on ways to prevent them from making a mess.

    I started composting my fruits & vegetable scraps and many other items about a year ago. This is a great way to protect the environment and keeps these scraps from taking up space in landfills, and your compost turns into soil that you can use in a garden or for patching your yard!

    I picked up garbage along my street yesterday. I take pride in my neighborhood, but I also want to protect the earth since this garbage can blow into the woods and be harmful to wildlife.
