I found out that my shrimp come from Indonesia. That doesn't sound very eco friendly to eat frozen shrimps from half way around the word. So I found a community fishery where I can get weekly local fish.

One surprising thing that has come out of this challenge is saving money! Not buying single use products, getting creative to reuse items, cooking at home instead of grabbing packaged food on the go, and reducing consumption are all great ways to save the planet and your wallet!

Has anyone found a more sustainable (ideally plastic-free) way to purchase meat products? It seems everything is packaged in plastic, styrofoam, etc.... probably for food safety reasons, but would love to hear if anyone has found a solution!

While visiting my mom this weekend, she mentioned she was going to throw out some old dish towels, so I took them and cut them up to use as rags... I've been looking for more paper towel replacements and was going to buy them brand new, even more eco friendly to upcycle something that would otherwise end up in a landfill!

Action Track: Community Borrow Before I Buy
How did you participate in the sharing economy? (Consider posting a photo!) What are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?

I'm part of a buy nothing group. I think it's great! I donate old toys and clothing and I received a few pieces of furniture that I love + it creates community as you get a chance to talk to neighbors.
