My "Why": I started caring more about the environment and sustainable practices six years ago. I was scrolling through social media when I came across a video of a whale that had died from starvation. I was shocked and couldn't understand how that was possible. Against my instincts, I finished reading the article and watching the...

It was an incredible month participating in the EcoChallenge; it went by so quickly. I hope we all continue sharing best practices and incorporating new sustainable habits into our daily lives.

Replacing products you've been reliant on is not easy, especially when it comes to cleaning products and you like knowing something is truly clean! I'm going to be switching away from detergent pods that have microplastic. I'm also moving away from toxic mosquito/tick spray to a more non-toxic version.

If you've...

Last day! I hope the folks taking part in this challenge (myself included) can continue to build eco-friendly habits long after this is complete.

Joshua Tree National Park has many sacred sites and archaeological areas that hold deep cultural significance for Native American tribes particularly the Cahuilla, Chemehuevi, and Serrano peoples who have lived in the region for thousands of years. These sites include ancient rock art, ceremonial locations, and artifacts that provide evidence...

So glad I participated in this! Going to stick with 3/5 of my actions for the foreseeable future, thank you Green Team ERG at Coursera for the push !

Leave no trace is something we've always been doing with my family, but it was interesting to learn about other ways to minimizing negative impacts on nature.

I replaced paper towels with sustainable washable cloths as now every time I use it I think about how proud I am to be setting a great example for my kids. We talk about it a lot at home, how we're contributing into saving trees and helping nature even if our actions are small. I'm also getting ready to switch from plastic wrap to the beeswax...
