    • 8-DAY STREAK
This being the last day of the eco-challenge, I'd say it was tough to even check-in on the app everyday which was a change from my normal routine so it's that much harder to not only change routine to help the environment but to maintain that change! Changing things like hanging up my laundry to dry outside which takes more time instead of throwing it in the dryer and pressing a button. I think that finding small joys in tasks like that help, like when I enjoy the smell of laundry dried in the sun or seeing the gentle wave of clothes blowing in the breeze with the backdrop of the bright blue sky. Taking the time to reflect also helps instead of always having to do the next thing. I hope to carry on these new habits and taking time to reflect. Happy Earth Month everyone!

The month has almost flown by! Being able to participate in tree planting events earlier this week and today was inspiring to see so many people out willing to lend a hand. I was able to declutter my closet by giving my friend a shirt that didn't fit me quite right but that for her perfectly. Biking and walking in forests and on trails with the recent good weather has improved my mood and let me run into friends I hadn't seen in a while. While there is so much on earth to appreciate, we can't take it for granted and new to keep pitching in to keep it sustainable!

Reducing food waste...I think one way to be more mindful of this is to grow your own!
By planning, planting, watering and picking (or seeing the joy when your kids find peas or tomatoes growing) - all that effort - I want to make sure it is fully enjoyed = 0 waste!
By thinking about this - also makes one more reflective of the time and effort that goes into to getting that produce to the grocery store.

What did you learn when exploring alternatives to using a car? If you were able to try an alternative, what did you try? How did using alternative transportation impact your daily routine and your perspective on reducing emissions?

What was the most unexpected piece of trash that was picked up during your local cleanup effort? How does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?

Nothing interesting to report, unfortunately there were quite a few bags of dog poop left behind. It was a nice opportunity to connect with teammates and we received a lot of thanks from people walking by.

Ecole King George (on Lemon St.) is hosting a Kids clothing drive on Saturday, April 26, 12-4. Everything is free and open to all.

What a great way to give new life to clothes!
We've gone in the past and gotten a bunch of great things for the kids!
