I practice rotational grazing and no-till farming. Endophyte-free pasture grows in my pastures, and I compost horse and cow manure, food scraps and landscape trimmings and use the compost to fertilize the pastures and garden.

Most of the water is directed away into the pond and then drains into the field. French drains have been added in the pasture to keep the water draining there instead of running toward the house.

The new fact I learned is that only about 0.5 percent of Earth's water is available as fresh and usable water. That's not very much at all! We need to be safe guarding our precious water!
