Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When marine wildlife ingest plastic, they have a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

peter verduzco 4/30/2024 1:14 PMSometimes I'm out hiking, and I come across mylar ballons that have flown out into the mountains. I pick them up and dispose of them correctly. They are just some of the things I find when out hiking. I try to pack any trash I find out in nature.-
Ann Lloyd 4/30/2024 2:04 PMThanks! A local news station just had a story about releasing balloons https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/balloons-environmental-impact/
