Agree and this is best practice. I avoid the elephant rides in SE Asia beaches, camel rides in MEA desert, and donkey rides in the UK!

Health and Well-Being
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Wildlife
Learn the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace
Leave No Trace means enjoying nature responsibly by minimizing our impact and leaving the environment as we found it, or better. I will spend 15 minutes learning about the seven core principles to minimize my impact while enjoying the outdoors.
Wildlife
Try At Least One Principle of Leave No Trace
After learning about the Principles of Leave No Trace, I will take at least one action to minimize my impact on the outdoors while enjoying nature. I will post what I tried to the feed to encourage others to do the same!

Learn about sustainability by taking two Green Pill modules on Emerson Learn. Choose the topics that appeal to you most!
Wildlife
Learn to be a Responsible Tourist
Being a responsible tourist means not disturbing wildlife and choosing eco-friendly tour operators and destinations that prioritize wildlife conservation and respect animal welfare. I will spend 15 minutes researching ways to travel responsibly to ensure my adventures support, rather than harm, wildlife and their habitats.
Health and Well-Being
Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes
Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Declutter and Donate
Decluttering can reduce stress and benefit others. I will declutter my home and donate items I no longer need to support others in my community.
Health and Well-Being
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Land, Water, and Air
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeWhat did you learn about how tourism impacts wildlife, and how can you make more conscious choices when planning a trip? How do you think your travel decisions can contribute to wildlife conservation and respectful interactions with nature?
Scott Twelves 4/24/2025 11:14 AMI learned that there are organizations that help to protect ethical wildlife tourism. When planning trips in the future, I will make sure to consider whether wildlife experiences are harmful to the animals, and won't support them if not. The less we support unethical wildlife tourism, the more it will encourage places to consider better treatment or certifications. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeHow did your experience go in trying an action to Leave No Trace? Did you notice others doing the same, or not? From a perspective of having empathy for others, why might people not adhere to the Leave No Trace principles?
Scott Twelves 4/22/2025 11:32 AMOur team helped to pick up trash around our company's campus. We found old styrofoam coolers and plenty of other trash in areas that clearly were inhabited by wildlife (likely beavers based on the chopped down trees). It felt good to clean up their habitat without disturbing them and making it safer for them in the future. -
Scott Twelves 4/22/2025 11:30 AMOur team joined a Campus Cleanup event to pick up trash and recycling around our campus. We filled 5 trash bags and 3 recycling bags during our hour outside.-

Scott Twelves 4/08/2025 8:26 AMAs a diabetic, it's important for me to get regular check ups to make sure I'm hitting my goals. I felt good after this check up because my numbers are where they should be!-
Regina Willis 4/08/2025 8:30 AMGreat job! My numbers aren't where I want them to be, but I'm committed to a better report during my next visit.

Wow, look at you! Learning about ESG and Scope 1 Emissions during Earth Month like it’s your side hustle. Honestly, this is how it starts. One minute you're casually absorbing abatement strategies, and the next you're leading a carbon-neutral revolution with a reusable coffee mug and a spreadsheet.Love that you're diving into the green deep end, even if it’s not your lane. Sustainability needs more crossover stars like you. ESG Avengers, assemble.
