Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

I took a look at the SharePoint. Watched the video with Mike Train and reviewed the PowerPoint about Emerson's Greening of, Greening by, and Greening with initiatives.

I am careful about segregating my waste into the different bins. I notice that most people seem to understand single stream recycling. However, I see a lot of people throw compostable items (such as food waste, cardboard plates, and napkins) into the trash bins. I'm not sure whether to mention that when I see it. I know it can be confusing since a lot of places don't have compost bins.

We don't have composting at all of our MN campus locations. I take my compostables home with me, where I know they will get composted. Not much effort required.

Ahh *sigh*, it can be difficult sometimes to get everything sorted properly. 🗑️🍔🥡🥬 I just noticed that our onsite cafe recently switched to a cardboard / compostable tray that many freshly prepared food items get placed onto. Hopefully that'll reduce the quantity going into Emerson trash bins... if we can just take that extra moment to sort and segregate! 👍😊

Checking in with friends helps me feel like I am part of the community and not just on my own. I make it a habit of asking coworkers how they are doing instead of just starting with what I need from them.
