Share My Why
Take the Earth Month Ecochallenge Feedback Survey
I will take a short survey about my experience to help the Ecochallenge team improve future events, earn a chance to win a prize, and earn 15 points!
Health and Well-Being
Prepare for Extreme Weather
Extreme weather events like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods can disrupt lives and upend our communities. I will take proactive steps to prepare for extreme weather by safeguarding my home and creating or updating an emergency plan and kit with essential supplies, evacuation routes, and contact information.
Land, Water, and Air
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Wildlife
Try At Least One Principle of Leave No Trace
After learning about the Principles of Leave No Trace, I will take at least one action to minimize my impact on the outdoors while enjoying nature. I will post what I tried to the feed to encourage others to do the same!
Wildlife
Learn the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace
Leave No Trace means enjoying nature responsibly by minimizing our impact and leaving the environment as we found it, or better. I will spend 120 minutes learning about the seven core principles to minimize my impact while enjoying the outdoors.
Empowering the Next Generation
Submit a Youth-Authored Letter
Youth perspectives are powerful. I will encourage or help a young person write and submit a letter about an environmental issue to a local paper, community leader, or decision-maker.
Land, Water, and Air
Produce No Waste for a Day
The impacts of our waste are far reaching. I will create zero waste for an entire day and share my reflections and learnings on the feed.
Community and Connection
Share Information about Local Resources
Knowledge of local resources helps communities thrive. I will learn about local resources, especially mutual aid groups, and share them with others on social media, in conversations, or in other ways that help spread the word.
Sustainable Innovation
Green Crypto
I will interact with the VeBetter DAO app daily. Not only will I earn crypto currency for my sustainable actions, but I will leave the world a better place than I found it.

- 15-DAY STREAK
Creating no waste is hard. Today I prepared just enough food for lunch so that there were new leftovers. Yesterday my husband did the same for dinner. We also used real plates instead of paper plates that create waste. We have been opening windows and leaving lights off to help us not to waste electricity. Every little bit helps -

- 15-DAY STREAK
Today I am focusing the 1st principal of Leave No Trace. The Scouts will be camping next weekend (April 11-13) and I am planning ahead and preparing. This will be a fun weekend packed with skill challenges, competitions and fireside skits. Making sure that we are weather aware will be key during the unpredictable Spring months.

My husband and I are practicing sustainable acts and at the same time earning Crypto currencies. VeWorld/VeBetter Dao pays people in B3TR tokens for doing simple tasks. Apps like Mugshot gives tokens for using a mug instead of a disposable cup, or Greencart for snapping pics of receipts with fruits, veggies and sustainable items. The Cleanify app also let you get credit for cleaning in your area. These actions align with the ecochallenge goals. Glad that these project both align.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Well-BeingWhat did you do to prepare for extreme weather events? Share any tips or resources you found helpful in the feed!
Ida Russell 4/01/2025 4:54 AMYesterday we had an extreme weather warning for my city. We charged electric generators, power stations, secured items in the yard, and made sure that my team was also aware and prepared. This is a great task to take BEFORE you really need one. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWildlifeHow did your experience go in trying an action to Leave No Trace? Did you notice others doing the same, or not? From a perspective of having empathy for others, why might people not adhere to the Leave No Trace principles?

I camp with the Scouts monthly. Leave No Trace is a founding principal that we practice on every trip. We were careful to pack up everything that we brought with us and we police the field looking for anything that does not belong. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirHow did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?

I have a broken leg, so I have been washing up with a bowl of water for months. This process has made me appreciate showers, but has also made me aware that I do not need as much water as I thought to be clean. -

I had a great time camping with the Scouts this past weekend. We had camping 101 and the older Scouts trained the new Scouts on topics like First Aid, Working with tools like axes and saws, Setting up camp. There was also a focus on Leave No Trace and the Outdoor Code. I am excited for the EcoChallenge this year.
