Share My Why
Take the Earth Month Ecochallenge Feedback Survey
I will take a short survey about my experience to help the Ecochallenge team improve future events, earn a chance to win a prize, and earn 15 points!
Wildlife
Use Reusable Bags
Plastic bags do not always end up in landfills and if they aren't properly disposed of. In nature, they can be mistaken for food by many wild animals and harm wildlife. When I go shopping, I will be sure to bring my own bags to reduce waste and the chance that plastic bags could find their way into wildlife habitats.
Sustainable Innovation
Invest in the Future of Sustainability
Sustainable investments shape a greener future. I will research and invest in companies, funds, or projects that supports sustainability, such as renewable energy, green tech, or sustainable practices. I will share more about who I supported with others on social media or in the Ecochallenge feed.

Sustainable Innovation
Take the Green Pill Trainings on Emerson Learn
Learn about sustainability by taking two Green Pill modules on Emerson Learn. Choose the topics that appeal to you most!
Land, Water, and Air
Save Water When Washing Dishes
Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.
Land, Water, and Air
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!
Wildlife
Plant (or Adopt) a Plant
Landscaping with native plants, gardening, and having plants inside can have benefits for nature and our health. I will plant or adopt a new plant or grow one from seeds and post a photo of it to the feed.
Health and Well-Being
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Health and Well-Being
Enjoy the Outdoors for 30 Minutes
Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside, then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

A few years ago my husband and I gifted a peach tree to my mother in law - I'll honestly say I never really expected it to give much fruit, but last year she brought me a whole back of little peaches. Delicious! Best of luck with your tree! -

Looks really good. I hope you also get some fruit from it soon. We have a couple of damson trees which always end up as damson gin for Christmas ;-) -

- 16-DAY STREAK
I was just looking at apricot trees yesterday and thinking that I should plant a dwarf tree. My family had one in our yard when I was about 8, and I remember my brother and I climbing it and eating the apricots fresh from the tree (even some that were a little green!). I hope your tree brings you lots of delicious fruit and many happy memories!

Maria Eugenia Ramirez 4/02/2025 2:53 AMThis is my third year, and I love thinking what to do on new challenges. It’s like a game, but with the awesome bonus of helping the planet! Plus, it feels great to be part of Emerson team, one small step at a time. Let’s go green!-
