    Last day of Ecochallenge!
Let's take this moment to reflect on the impact our small actions made and do our part to carry on with these habits we learned.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Wildlife
How did it feel to plant something, and what kind of gardening did you do (indoors, hydroponic, outside in a garden, etc)? What did you plant and where? Feel free to share a photo to the feed!

I have always done outdoor gardening since my young age, since I was lucky enough to be born in a place where we can grow plants throughout the year. However, nowadays I am finding it interesting to learn more about indoor gardening and slowly getting into it. I have started by planting an aloe vera plant since it is something that is easy to take care of.

      • 17-DAY STREAK
I find choosing a spot with good sun light and stable temperatures helps to keep the plants happy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Sustainable Innovation
What sustainability project did you support, and why did it resonate with you?

    Pavan Prakash's avatar
    Pavan Prakash 4/29/2025 1:43 AM
I supported a sustainability project in spreading awareness about the types of plastic and the importance of segregating and disposing of these materials for further processing, such as recycling.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land, Water, and Air
How did collecting rainwater influence your understanding of sustainable water use? What tasks or activities could benefit most from rainwater collection in your household?

    Pavan Prakash's avatar
    Pavan Prakash 4/29/2025 1:42 AM
Collecting rainwater and using it made me realise the scale at which each of us consumes water in our day-to-day life. We are not at all concerned about our water usage, considering it an unlimited resource and taking it for granted.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land, Water, and Air
What was the most unexpected piece of trash that was picked up during your local cleanup effort? How does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?

    Pavan Prakash's avatar
    Pavan Prakash 4/29/2025 1:38 AM
A large number of bottle caps and, surprisingly, lots of artificial fabric pieces. Something we ignore is that not all clothes are made of environmentally friendly materials.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Empowering the Next Generation
What impressed you most about the youth-led project you supported, and how did your involvement help?

    Pavan Prakash's avatar
    Pavan Prakash 4/29/2025 1:36 AM
The enthusiasm and interest youngsters had in making a change truly inspired me.

As we approach the final days of the ecochallenge, let's pledge to continue these steps in our daily lives and not end these actions here.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Empowering the Next Generation
How did participating in a bio-blitz with young people enhance their understanding of local biodiversity? What impact do you think activities like a bio-blitz have on inspiring youth to protect nature?

    Pavan Prakash's avatar
    Pavan Prakash 4/28/2025 5:52 AM
Young people have a very good understanding of the global problems and the big picture about biodiversity. But what they lack is the awareness of the nature and ecosystems local to them. Such information is not documented and can be gathered only from the people who are indigenous to that locality, and sharing this info with the young community helps in the efforts towards conserving them.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community and Connection
What resources did you discover, and how do you think they can benefit your community? How did sharing this information make you feel more connected to your community’s needs and opportunities?

    Pavan Prakash's avatar
    Pavan Prakash 4/28/2025 5:50 AM
Shared resources about the importance and methods by which the plastic problem can be identified. I found a website that essentially indicates the steps that we can take at an individual level to solve this problem. This helps in realising the impact of our action,n being small steps, and helps in keeping us motivated to move towards the protection of the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community and Connection
What was the most rewarding part of bringing people together for a gathering? Did you experience any challenges in hosting, and if so, how did you overcome them?

No matter how technologies improve and facilitate connection, it is a good feeling to have people together at a place and discuss a common cause. It helps to see the various perspectives and ideas people have towards a common problem and its solutions.
