Sophie's actions
Personal
Write in a Resilience Journal
Reflection helps us adapt and grow. I will spend 5 minutes writing in a journal about challenges I face, the strengths I use, and what helps me thrive.
Personal
Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep
Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 300 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Personal
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
What is resilience?
Reflect on My Own Resilience
Resilience is personal and collective. I will reflect on a time when I adapted to change in my own life, writing down what helped me and what I learned from the experience.
Soil and Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 1 meatless meals meals each day.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Leave the Leaves
Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat meal did you enjoy the most, and what alternatives did you try? Did anything surprise you about how satisfying plant-based options can be?
Sophie Palbaum 4/12/2026 4:42 PMIt took me awhile to figure out a meal I could eat that didn't have meat since I am have learned to rely on meat options for my whole life. I am trying to eat more plant- based options or I have been doing meals that don't require meat at all such as pasta. It has been surprisingly tasty eating less meat. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONWhat is resilience? What personal strengths or supports helped you adapt to a past challenge? How might those same strengths help you in the future?
Sophie Palbaum 4/05/2026 9:10 PM- Book Lover 📚
The personal strengths that helped me adapt to a past challenge were my ability to communicate and lean on others for help. My family is a big part of my life so whenever I have a challenge come up I always turn to them for support. These strengths and support will always be here to help me with future challenges. -

My eco-challange is going great so far. I am finding a little difficult to complete each of my daily challenges every day but I am trying my best and pushing myself to succeed each day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?
Sophie Palbaum 4/02/2026 9:04 PM- Book Lover 📚
Exercising each day has made me feel mentally stronger and more productive during my days. I loved walking on the treadmill and working out with my friend. Usually if I don't feel like exercising I don't but this challenge has pushed me to exercise on days I wouldn't normally want to.-
Hillary Tejada 4/08/2026 12:39 AM- TEAM CAPTAIN

Sophie Palbaum 4/01/2026 8:11 PM- Book Lover 📚
Writing in a journal is something I used to do in high school but now doing it in college is a interesting and fun way to reflect on my days. Reflecting on my day and seeing what strengths I used and how that helped my thrive was a beneficial experience that I am looking forward doing every day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalHow did improving your sleep affect your energy, focus, or mood? What role does rest play in helping you feel more balanced and capable of handling challenges?
Sophie Palbaum 4/01/2026 7:55 PM- Book Lover 📚
Improving my sleep affected my energy and my overall mood in a positive way. When I had a full night of sleep I felt energized and well rested throughout my whole day. Having the right mindset is all due to me having enough sleep to conquer any challenges coming my way.-
