This EcoChallenge has forced me to think about my small day to day actions as well as my larger footprint. I am more aware of water consumption specifically and my ability to participate in composting! The theme of "Resilience" reminded me that even when faced with challenging moments, sticking it out maintaining my commitments makes the next challenge feel so much for attainable!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How did exercising each day impact your physical and mental resilience? What activities helped you feel stronger, more flexible, or more capable of adapting?

I normally try to get a workout in most days, but for EcoChallenge I wanted to challenge myself to also walk outside and use that opportunity to disconnect from my phone and take in the environment around me! I'm trying to visit all of my city's parks as well. I have learned so much about my community and also have taken notice at how many locals take care of shared spaces which is so encouraging!!

Such a great idea to walk out in the wilderness, or just hike, or walking just outside.. This makes so much difference! Thank you for reminding me how important is to stop ordinary scheduled time, for a few minutes to "smell the roses"

I put a post-it note next to my sink with a quick reminder to turn off my water while washing dishes. I can sometimes fall into leaving it running while cleaning so I am trying to cut down and turn it off while scrubbing and on only for rinsing :)

On the days where work is crazy and I don't have time to do the extra activities I know I'll be taking a daily walk and its an easy check in even for the weekend!

In my specific town we have some serious flooding, I spent some time looking into the the water map and how its changed over time, which was eye opening in itself. Because of this we learned the importance of prioritizing filtered water and having back ups planned!
