I’m trying to reduce food waste, we’ve started to build a “leftover” dinner meal. It’s usually near the end of the week when we’re tired and don’t feel like cooking. We start digging through the refrigerator and make a meal out of leftovers. Sometimes it’s more like a buffet plate but it works! Our fridge looks empty in comparison but we hardly throw anything out.-
Swati Joshi 4/08/2025 5:21 AMI try to do this too! And sometimes those creative endeavors to use up the leftovers end up being the biggest hit (never to be replicated again, lol)! -

Learning how to choose forest-friendly foods reminds me of how much power we (consumers) hold. It's easy to feel powerless when I read about what has been lost but it's so important to remember how much those small choices made at the supermarket make a big difference for farmers and entire ecosystems.
Yes, reading labels isn't fun but maybe that's the point. My goal is to make sure I'm buying more fresh produce and really limit processed foods for both myself and others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirWhat did you learn about forest-friendly foods? What sustainable food choices will you commit to making, and why are they important to you?
Lucy Fuentes 4/01/2025 6:46 PMI was unaware of how the extent of deforestation due to the high demands for palm oil. It is concerning that it’s on so many products. I plan to read labels more carefully to look for other references to this ingredient. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand, Water, and AirHow did shortening your showers affect your awareness of water conservation? What other water-saving practices can you adopt in your daily routine?

Taking shorter showers made me more mindful of how I utilize water in other activities such as dishwasher settings that can reduce water consumption. I also started being more mindful of when I turn on the faucet when I was my hand and brush my teeth and only turn on when I’m rinsing. -
