Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Personal
Reduce Refined Sugar
Cutting back on refined sugar can improve energy, mood, and overall health. I will limit my intake of sugary snacks and drinks by reducing refined sugar in meals or snacks each day.
Work and Organizations
Learn About Organizational Resilience
Organizations, like ecosystems, can adapt and thrive. I will spend 20 minutes learning how organizations build resilience through collaboration, flexibility, and innovation, and reflect on what I can apply in my own setting.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Leave the Leaves
Fallen leaves, logs, and brush provide shelter and food for wildlife. I will leave natural features in my yard or community space to help strengthen biodiversity and soil resilience.
Soil and Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 2 meatless meals meals each day.
Biodiversity and Wildlife
Reduce Light Pollution
Too much artificial light can confuse and harm animals, especially those active at night. I will reduce sources of outdoor light or switch to wildlife-friendly fixtures to support healthy habitats.
Personal
Meditate
Meditation helps build resilience and clarity. I will spend 15 minutes each day to meditate or create a moment of silence each day to reflect on things important to me.
Water
Take Shorter Showers
Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonalBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?
Vivian Flores De Jesus 4/09/2026 5:54 PMAfter a few days of reducing my sugar intake, I've realized that prior to this, I was 'addicted' to sugar. It's tempting to reach for sugary energy drinks and try to push through exhaustion (especially as a student). Now, I take it as a sign to rest before returning to a task. Which makes me feel much better!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBiodiversity and WildlifeWhat lights did you reduce or change, and how might this help wildlife near you?
Vivian Flores De Jesus 4/03/2026 11:30 PM- Artist 🎨
In my home, we have two outdoor lights that are usually left on throughout the night. Mainly for visibility, but the local wildlife such as the birds and insects would benefit a lot more by having them off. I searched online and found that it disrupts their navigation.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONSoil and FoodWhat meal did you enjoy the most, and what alternatives did you try? Did anything surprise you about how satisfying plant-based options can be?
Vivian Flores De Jesus 4/03/2026 11:22 PM- Artist 🎨
In the morning for breakfast, I had a spinach omelette with apple cinnamon tea (no sugar, I adore my tea bitter)! And for dinner, my family and I prepared a salad with left over veggies we had. I feel that I often overlook what type of food I consume, but this made me plan ahead and got me out of my comfort zone :)-
