The quest for Forest Friendly foods is quite interesting. Read a lot about Ragi - Finger Millets. It can grow in harsh arid climates thus helping people living in such regions. We used it as a breakfast cereal. It is packed with vital nutrients like calcium, iron & proteins.

Eco challenge has created so much more awareness about conservation and minimizing waste of any kind. Have saved at least 30 plastic bags so far this month by carrying our own jute bags for all kinds of shopping, Great feeling when you say no to plastic bags !

Great going - particularly the learning based on the themes this year like Forest friendly foods, saving water via small actions in our daily lives and the importance of daily acts of kindness towards all who touch our lives even if for a single event.

Today evening I took the Metro to an event approx. 25 kms away. Enjoyed the journey as well as the feeling I did not burn gas and add to the pollution as it was avoidable.

Start with the awareness that I must get out of the shower sooner than "usual" and yet have the same fresh feeling. Just 2 minutes can save many liters of water. Makes you feel so good and grateful, and that feeling lasts all day!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community and Connection
How did expressing gratitude or performing acts of kindness impact you and the recipient? Did anything surprise you about your experience?

The groceries delivery boy brings in the order in minutes every day. Shared a refreshing drink with him as an expression of thanks. The surprise and happiness on his face was invaluable. Hope to repeat this often.

Some electrical points were left on perennially. Now we switch all off as well as use fewer lights where possible.
same at the office - I switch off left on without any on using it.
