AIMEE 's actions
Land + Forests
Plant a Garden
Start a small garden with some of the vegetables that we use most.
Land + Forests
Plant Trees
Trees capture carbon and produce oxygen that is essential to life on earth. I will support this important piece of nature by organizing or joining a community group to plant 2 native trees in my community, public parks, office location, campus or backyard.
Land + Forests
Regenerative Agriculture and Me
Regenerative agriculture focuses on farming and ranching in a way that supports life and restores the soil. I will spend 60 minutes learning about regenerative agriculture and find out if any nearby farms practice regenerative agriculture.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
TRY A NEW VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN RECIPE
I will try a new vegetarian or vegan recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Land + Forests
Keep My Community Clean
At times it may not feel like it's up to us to keep our community clean and healthy, but we all have a role to play. Each day I am outside, I will pick up any litter I see.
Land + Forests
Explore My Area
When we explore natural spaces around us, our connections with them change. I will spend 240 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood, office, or campus (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).
Land + Forests
30 for 30 in Nature
Studies have shown that when we spend consistent time in nature, our health improves, our creativity increases, and our connection to the planet gets stronger. Each day of the Ecochallenge, I will spend 30 minutes outside (in a large or small patch of nature), then share my observations, reflections, and learnings on the feed.
Climate + Air
Weekly Meal Planning
One third of all food produced worldwide is wasted, and so is the energy it takes to produce and transport that food. I will reduce food waste and save money by planning a weekly menu, only buying the ingredients I need and eating what I planned each day.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

AIMEE DANCER 4/29/2024 8:06 AMI spent the weekend exploring in Sedona. For such a highly visited area it was so nice to see very little trace. In two days, I did not see a single piece of litter or other unwelcome items like graffiti on rock formations/caves or carvings in trees.

AIMEE DANCER 4/18/2024 9:33 AMYesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day in the Fossil Creek Wilderness. This is one of the most diverse riparian areas in AZ. Over 30 species of trees/shrubs and hundreds of birds live in this habitat. The stream originates from a collection of artesian springs that produce a constant year-round flow.-
Gayle Senn 4/18/2024 7:55 PMBeautiful pictures Aimee! Looks like an absolutely amazing place to explore! Thank you for sharing!

AIMEE DANCER 4/15/2024 2:52 PMOver the weekend I spent a few hours at my neighbor's farm. She began as a citrus farmer in AZ, next she had a flower farm in CA then onto a macadamia farm in HI and now has a small farm in AZ. She regularly shares her knowledge with me that I hope to use someday soon to grow fruits and vegetables on my own land. -
AIMEE DANCER 4/08/2024 6:56 AMI explored a new trail in the Tonto National Forest this weekend. The wildflowers and vegetation were abundant after the recent snow melt and rain.
