Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

    Due to this challenge, I have been able to find ways to conserve water. I have been able to reduce outdoor lighting. Usually, my family keeps them on at night, but I've been turning them off. I learned that they are distractions that will lead to accidents for animals such as birds. My mental health has been improving, and I've been getting more sleep than usual.

    Shortening my showers affected my awareness of water conservation by realizing how much water I was wasting. Other water-saving practices can I adopt in my daily routine by using less water when washing dishes, encourage my grandparents to use less water when watering the plants, and so on.

    Changing my dishwashing habits has made me more mindful of knowing how much water to use. Also, never leave the water running as I'm scrubbing the dishes. Other small changes I can make to conserve water in your household is to take shorter showers, encourage my family to find ways to conserve water, and so on.

      I listened to BBC People Fixing the World Podcast this week and they were talking about different ways to reuse greywater, which includes sink water. they started the program by talking about just that - the water that goes down the sink wehn you do the dishes.!

    Eating more fruits and vegetables and less positively affects my health in a good way. I'm bettering my food choices and eating habits. I tried brussels sprouts and beets (we serve them at my job) in a roasted style and they were pretty good. My favorite was the brussels sprouts.

    When it comes to reducing stress levels or dealing with my anxiety, I rely on music. I prefer to listen to songs that are similar to what I'm feeling at that moment, or I'll play my favorite songs to calm me down and keep me focused. Two songs that I enjoy listening to are No Rain by Blind Melon and Rooster by Alice in Chains.

    Improving my sleep has improved my focus. I no longer feel groggy, drained, tired after getting an extra amount of sleep. I feel more focused, awake, no big headaches so I have a clear mind to think.
