Good sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. I will prioritize getting 30 minutes of quality sleep each night and develop a bedtime routine that supports rest and relaxation.

Conserving water helps protect this precious resource. I will shorten my showers to 5 minutes to save water and reduce energy use - each time saving up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water!

Save Water When Washing Dishes

Dishwashers can save water — if used wisely. I will only run the dishwasher when it’s full and skip the pre-rinse to reduce water and energy use. If I don't have a dishwasher, I will turn off the tap as often as possible while washing dishes.

    It made me realize how much water I waste and how much water I actually need when showering.

      I have the best luck shortening my showers when the bathroom is warm. If the air is chilly, I do not want to stop the hot shower, but if the air is warm, I usually turn of the water to shampoo and soap up and then turn the water back on to rinse off. I think that saves at least a gallon or two!

    It made me more mindful because I didn't realize how much water was going to waste before. Some small changes I can make to conserve more water in my household is show my mom how to conserve water as well when it comes to doing dishes

    I feel that by improving my sleep it made me have more energy for throughout the day. I think that rest plays a big role because when I get enough rest I feel as though it is easier for me to focus on school concepts

    Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?

    I do believe that I was addicted to sugar before I stated this challenge. I feel as after starting this challenge I have reduced my sugar intake. The most challenging part of reducing refined sugar I would say wold be the beginning because I had been so used to the intake. I overcame this by I guess you could say accepting the fact that having a huge intake in refined sugar was not good for me.

    I think that when eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat it gives me more energy. The fruits that I really enjoy eating are apples and oranges I like the natural sugars that they provide. My favorite fruit to eat this week was oranges.
