As well as creating a more peacefull area around my home adding an interesting and educational way to spend more time outside
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Save the Bees
Bees are vital to ecosystems. To help save the bees, I will learn which local flowers provide nectar and plant them in my backyard or in a pot on my balcony.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Biodiversity and Me
I will spend at least 15 minutes each day researching what biodiversity is, how biodiversity positively impacts our world, and how the loss of biodiversity harms it. I will share what I learn on the feed.
Action Track: Community
Sustainability Lunch and Learn
Learning in a social setting can inspire connection and change. I will work with a friend or colleague to plan and host a lunch and learn at work, school, in my neighborhood or other location to learn more about an environmental topic important to me. After the lunch and learn, I will share more about it on the feed.

Raise Awareness for the Conservation of Freshwater and Oceans
I will spend 30 minutes learning more about the importance of freshwater + ocean conservation, and how I can reduce my water use. I will share what I learn with people in person, on social media, and on the feed.
Freshwater + Oceans
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Grow Local
I will research and plant a garden filled with native fruits, vegetables, and flowers to nurture local wildlife and ecosystems. I will find nearby nurseries that offer plants native to my area.
Freshwater + Oceans
Cooking Oil Disposal
Pouring cooking oil down the drain can cause damage to waterways and ecosystems. I will learn how to properly dispose of cooking oil to help support healthy ecosystems.
Climate + Air
Online Energy Audit
Energy use and waste is often invisible. I will complete an online energy audit of my home, office, or dorm room and identify my next steps for saving energy.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Myco Warrior
i am planning to inoculate a minimum of 8 different mycelium in my area. I am also planting / replanting deforested areas in my area with sustainable native plants.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Endangered Species
Wildlife and biodiversity play an important role on our planet and are being threatened each year. I will spend 60 minutes each day learning about the current status of local or global wildlife and how I can align my actions to support their livelihood.

Saw a Momma bee in another tube. excited to start seeing native plants popping up where i planted them. This weekend i am hoping to have the water feature ready to start taking live things in. I have several plants in water ready for freezing weather to go away. Foraging has started with nettles and dead nettels for teas. Maple buds for fritters. Dandilions for all the they various uses. Mushrooms are starting to spring up with all the rain. -
Dee Dee Campman 4/25/2024 3:30 PMSo far, my eco-challenge has gone very well. It's a topic that has always been near and dear to me. Rebuilding native habitats, learning about better way to use less. Reduce, reuse, recycle, reflect. All crucial to this planet and our continued presence and health. I have a project that will take months in planning and production. But I think it will be so valuable. At least to my tiny section of land. I think if we all do that much it will become a huge wave of progress. -
Dee Dee Campman 4/18/2024 2:41 PMI hatched out mason bees for the first time. Today I could see them in and out of their new home. This way I know I will have more cocoons for next spring.-
