Anamaria's actions
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Seek Alternative Gifts and Souvenirs
When traveling, I will seek souvenirs that support local communities and do not cause harm to the environment or wildlife.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 15 hours in my community.
Biodiversity + Wildlife
Beauty and Personal Products
Beauty and personal products can create a lot of waste. I will spend 30 minutes learning about the beauty and body products I use to see if they are refillable or recyclable. If not, I will reach out to the manufacturer to advocate for those options.
Climate + Air
Consume only Needs vs Wants
The more stuff we consume, the more greenhouse gasses we put into the atmosphere. I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach this month and only buy things I need.
Climate + Air
Low Carbon Diet
Carbon is emitted into the atmosphere in a variety of ways, including through the foods we eat and food we waste. I will learn about low carbon foods and replace higher carbon foods with them in my diet.
Land + Forests
Explore My Area
When we explore natural spaces around us, our connections with them change. I will spend 120 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood, office, or campus (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).
Land + Forests
Forest-Friendly Foods
I will look for sustainable palm oil products with the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSP) label. I will replace or remove the palm oil, coffee, and cocoa products in my current diet that are known to contribute to deforestation and opt for ones that help sustain healthy communities and forests.
Freshwater + Oceans
Smart Seafood Choices
We need to support healthy seafood populations. I will spend 30 minutes learning about sustainable seafood choices, commit to making better seafood choices for a healthier ocean, and share what I learned on the feed.
Freshwater + Oceans
Reduce Pollutants in Cleaning
Understanding cleaning product ingredients and their effect on water and biodiversity is helpful to our consumer choices. I will spend 30 minutes learning about how cleaning products affect our water and try making my own cleaning products to reduce pollutants.
Freshwater + Oceans
Cooking Oil Disposal
Pouring cooking oil down the drain can cause damage to waterways and ecosystems. I will learn how to properly dispose of cooking oil to help support healthy ecosystems.
Action Track: Community
Keep My Community Clean
At times it may not feel like it's up to us to keep our community clean and healthy, but we all have a role to play. Each day I am outside, I will pick up any litter I see.
Action Track: Community
JOIN OR CREATE A GREEN TEAM AT EMERSON
I will continue to contribute to Emerson's environmental sustainability goals beyond April by learning more about the Global Green Teams Network, joining a team near me, or maybe even creating a new team.
Action Track: Community
SIGN UP TO RECEIVE NEWS ON SUSTAINABILITY AT EMERSON
I will sign up to the Sustainability Aficionados distribution list to receive global news on sustainability at Emerson, including world news and Greening OF, BY, and WITH news.
Action Track: Community
TAKE PICTURES AND SHARE ON LINKEDIN
I will take at least one photograph that is connected with this year's theme of Nature Conservation & Biodiversity (for example an urban park, bee hives, birds and other animals...) and I will post it on LinkedIn with the hashtags #EarthMonthEcochallenge #EarthMonthAtEmerson.
Action Track: Community
ATTEND THE ECOCHALLENGE CONSERVATION WEBINAR
On Wed 24th April, I will attend the Earth Month Ecochallenge Webinar on Conservation to learn about what individuals, companies and other organizations can do to promote biodiversity and nature protection.
Action Track: Community
Sustainability Lunch and Learn
Learning in a social setting can inspire connection and change. I will work with a friend or colleague to plan and host a lunch and learn at work, school, in my neighborhood or other location to learn more about an environmental topic important to me. After the lunch and learn, I will share more about it on the feed.
Freshwater + Oceans
Join a Cleanup Effort
I will organize or participate in a trash pickup at a local river, beach, or natural body of water.
Action Track: Community
Plant Trees
Trees capture carbon and produce oxygen that is essential to life on earth. I will support this important piece of nature by organizing or joining a community group to plant 5 native trees in my community, public parks, office location, campus or backyard.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Anamaria Boghean 4/30/2024 1:30 PMAI is a good idea for taking decisions. I used it to compare ingredients on some cosmetic products and identifying ingredients which are hormone disruptive or cancerigene. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFreshwater + Oceans Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Anamaria Boghean 4/30/2024 1:26 PMMany species of farmed fish, particularly salmon, require routinely high levels of antibiotics to avoid infections. A serving of mussels provides twice as much iron as a steak. However, you’ll want to eat them in moderation, as they filter our water and are at higher risk of containing microplastics and other contaminants. -
Anamaria Boghean 4/28/2024 1:11 PMI really like how the Someș river bank looks like with the wild, local flowers. It fits perfectly in the landscape

Anamaria Boghean 4/25/2024 12:15 PMI started growing micro-plants last year when I received the system and the seeds as a present. It's healthy, tasty and makes nice platings-

Anamaria Boghean 4/22/2024 12:42 PM🌍 Happy Earth Day! Today we received the visit of 2 classes from a highschool on the occasion of Green Week. Most of them were involved and curious, It was good to welcome them. -
Anamaria Boghean 4/21/2024 1:03 PMToday I took some time to learn more about the chemicals in cosmetics. I remembered how bad parabens,SLS and aluminium are for health & environment and I learned about the chemicals in 💅.
Since a few years ago I started using solid shampoo and conditioner in plastic-free packaging. There are a few local manufacturers now, and I'm always choosing to support a local business when I can.

Ionut Cadar 4/22/2024 12:25 AMI will try them as well.

Anamaria Boghean 4/20/2024 10:02 AM❔ Who said vegan food is boring?
✅Inspired by a pomegranate, today I did some tartines with creamy tofu & black sesame + a fresh salad with peanut butter dressing.
❔ Who said vegan food lacks proteins?
✅ In this dish there are: hemp seeds (super proteic and with the perfect Omega 3-omega 6 ratio) peanut butter, miso and tofu.

🫨 4 days later: 4.
I heard today in Mărișel there was snow. 10 cm more precisely ☃️
I had a headache today because of the wind.
❔How was your 4 degrees day?

Iulia Stoenica 4/18/2024 11:38 PMSame as usual. Luckily I have a dog so it doesn't matter what the weather is like, I have to go out. -
Ionut Cadar 4/18/2024 10:21 PMI spent it mostly indoors. I do believe we need the rain though as if feels like the earth is missing it. I saw a lot of cracks on the surface of the soil lately that are typical to summer months. -
