Climate + Air

Stay on the Ground

Carbon emissions from air travel is harmful to planetary and human health. Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally).

Raise Awareness for the Conservation of Freshwater and Oceans

I will spend 30 minutes learning more about the importance of freshwater + ocean conservation, and how I can reduce my water use. I will share what I learn with people in person, on social media, and on the feed.

Choose Renewable Energy

Renewable energy options are becoming more widespread and accessible. Not only are they good for the planet, they can help save money as well. I will sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option. If my utility does not offer one, I will contact them to advocate for this option in the future.

i always had a car since i had a drivers license, but during the five decades since then i never used a car intensively, i always preferred to travel by train even when my kids were very young. The ways to the office i manage by public transpport and often by (non e-) bike. At the end of the 80ies i granted as a banker a loan to a couple who wanted to start a store for organic food. This time i got into contact with non-industrial produced food and i began to love it. Supporting small farms, caring for nature, avoiding pesticides and enjoying wonderful intensive tastes....It' so easy to care for nature and environment, the benefit is.... we all have advantages...

that's rather easy, purchase ornganic fruit and vegetables grown up under the label from Bioland or Demeter (that's the most severe organic association), maybe you have a look into Kreuzberg "Markhalle 9", on Fridays and Saturdays they have a fantastic food market there :-) and second, you could buy a lot of wonderful things directly at the farmers, there are lot small farms around Berlin and not so far away
