Freshwater + Oceans
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
It's estimated over a billion water bottles are thrown away each year. Even if they were recycled, that still uses energy and resources from the earth. I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Action Track: Community
Keep My Community Clean
At times it may not feel like it's up to us to keep our community clean and healthy, but we all have a role to play. Each day I am outside, I will pick up any litter I see.
Action Track: Community
Join a Cleanup Effort
I will organize or participate in a trash pickup at a local river, beach, or natural body of water.
Land + Forests
Explore My Area
When we explore natural spaces around us, our connections with them change. I will spend 30 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood, office, or campus (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).
Action Track: Community
Volunteer in my Community
I will volunteer 8 hours in my community.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Community Join a Cleanup EffortHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel? What results did you see? Please consider posting a photo of your cleanup!
Mary Avedesian 4/22/2024 6:20 AMI participated in the South Lyon area creek cleanup on Sunday April 21, 2024. We cleared the creeks, parks and roadside of debris. It was amazing in 3 hours that a large dumpster was filled with debris. It was a fun time working with fellow Comerica employees. This clean-up effort made me realize that us humans need to be more mindful of our environment and throw our trash in the proper receptacles instead of being lazy and just throwing on the ground. In most of the areas that I picked up trash there was a trash container in near walking distance and people still threw their trash on the ground.-
Carolyn Plemons 4/22/2024 7:01 AMI have come to realize the same as you, most of the trash I have picked up has come from Comerica Bank parking lots where there is a trash can within a few steps. So sad how people have zero respect for others property as well as the environment in which we live, -
