Reflection QuestionClimate & Ecosystems Reduce Single-Use PlasticsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Adrian Ardelean 4/30/2022 2:18 AMTackling a big little problem“Plastics and microplastics are ubiquitous,” Hardesty says. “They’re in our waterways, they’re in our stormwater drains, they’re being shed by tires from cars, they’re being shed from carpet fibers in people’s homes.”

Adrian Ardelean 4/29/2022 8:05 AMMake room in landfills for non-recyclable waste
Landfills are becoming increasingly overcrowded with garbage and recyclable items. Recycling is a must to keep this precious space strictly for the storage of waste that cannot be recycled. This concerns in particular the recycling of scrap metal, plastics, glass, and last but not least, paper, cardboard, and wood, easily recyclable materials that can be reused for various activities. -
Adrian Ardelean 4/28/2022 7:59 AMIMPORTANT TO KNOW: glass should not be mixed with other recyclable materials as is prone to break easily, hence it contaminates them. To avoid this, you should use a different recycling bin for your glass. -

Adrian Ardelean 4/20/2022 10:21 PMThe best way to get rid of used batteries without harming the environment is to collect them separately and look for the nearest collection point for used batteries and accumulators. -
Adrian Ardelean 4/19/2022 11:11 PMIt would be for the best that, when we're buying cleaning products, especially detergents which have in their composition active chemical agents that produce the foam, to choose natural chemical products, that are not so damaging for the environment. -
Adrian Ardelean 4/18/2022 11:41 AMGlass that you CAN recycle:
jars (without lid)
wine bottles and other beverages bottles
glassware used in the kitchen (except heat-resistant dishes)
glass form cosmetics -
Adrian Ardelean 4/16/2022 12:20 PMWe must keep in mind that the efficiency of paper recycling decreases with its contamination. This means that most of the paper that has been stained can no longer be recycled, which is why so much emphasis is placed on selective recycling.
