    What is the definition of water in your state? How are your bodies of water protected in your state? MO wants to modify the defition of "waters of the state." This is bad news for our drinking water and the ecosystems surrounding small creeks and ponds. Check the NPR article below:

    The state of MO is modifying the definition of what constitutes “waters of the state” which is dangerous proposition that will leave small streams and aquifers unprotected. I signed a petition, and I hope I can travel to Jefferson City this month to speak to legislators. The new proposal (HB 1691) will require that flowing rivers, lakes, and ponds have a continuous surface connecting to a permanent body of water. This does not happen in drought periods.
