I feel like there is a domino affect with every product that we have and use, even on a day to day basis. Everything that we use, purchace, consume; are most likely being created by low-income BIPOC communities who are working in harsh conditions for mere penny's a day. I always try to buy local, traditional trades with some of my fellow Indigenous artists , and always supporting small BIPOC businesses, because I know that my money is going towards something good, not just towards the capitalistic world.

I always feel good when I am coming back from my walks, throwing my little handful of trash that I see on my daily walks into the dumpster. it just makes me feel like a better person in its own silly way. It is also getting harder to find as much trash as I did in the beginning.

It always makes me feel proud to see the visual difference in the community when picking up litter. It feels good to be the change you want to see.

I started to look into finding a good source to help me translate a poem that I want to write for a part of the final project. I want it to fully be in my traditional language, because Traditional education to me is more important than western education, but what makes a Native student unstoppable, is mixing both educational ways and using them to help educate others.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Climate + Air Stay on the Ground
What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

I honestly don't fly often, only flew once in my 20 years on this planet, but in May, me and my partner were going to fly to Colorado for our little get away, but we thought it might be slightly better to drive, both to experience more on the trip, but also because I personally would rather drive than fly.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Climate + Air Declutter My Home Without the Landfill
How did it feel to intentionally declutter with putting things into the landfill? What did you learn along the way about yourself and our consumer and waste systems?

I have always tried to be mindful of what I am keeping and the things (clothes, or other stuff like art supplies, blankets, etc etc) that I don't want/need in my home. I always try to find a place that I can donate my stuff to, or I gift it to someone in need.
