    Sona Jose 4/27/2024 11:58 PM
Having a Zero Waste Day was both enlightening and challenging. Here’s what I discovered about myself and my habits:
    1. Mindful Consumption: Avoiding waste required constant awareness. I noticed how often I reached for disposable items—plastic bags, single-use containers, and paper napkins. Breaking these automatic habits demanded effort.
    2. Planning Ahead: Zero waste meant planning meals, carrying reusable utensils, and anticipating needs. I realized how accustomed I was to convenience—grabbing a coffee cup or snack without thinking.
    3. Resourcefulness: I got creative. Instead of buying bottled water, I refilled my reusable bottle. I repurposed old fabric into produce bags. It felt empowering to find alternatives.
    4. Social Pressure: Social situations posed challenges. Declining a plastic-wrapped pastry or refusing a disposable straw sometimes felt awkward. But I learned to prioritize my values over social norms.

    Summary
: Zero waste requires intentionality, but it’s a journey worth taking.
