I would like to thank all the members of "emerson daut cho-remote" for a wonderful clean-up day last Thursday April 25th.

We cleaned up a couple miles of shoreline on The Little Wicomico River, a tributary to Chesapeake Bay and a few miles of local roadway that runs off into The Little Wicomico River.

We split into two teams to tackle this project, a road team run by Bill Paczkowski and a water team run by Chris Brady.

Both teams collected a significant amount of debris which was separated into trash, plastic, glass by color and metal. All that was then recycled as much as possible at the local country trash & recycling facility.

Besides removing trash and junk, the support given by community members passing by was very rewarding.

Please check my other posts for some photos and the posts from our team members.

    Sincerly,
    Bob

I would like to highlight the wonderful trash collecting and recycling centers provided at no charge by our county, Northumberland County, Virgina. These excellent facilities go a long way in keeping trash cleaned up and the opportunity to recycle as much as possible. It sure made disposing of our collected junk easy!
    THANK YOU, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY!!!

    Hi Everyone,
We had 9 people in our cleanup of the Chesapeake Bay tributary, the Little Wicomico River and a main road near the water. We split into two teams, one team of 4 on the water led by Chris Brady and another team of 5, led by Bill Paczkowski cleaning up the road.
We recovered a significant amount of trash in both areas consisting primarily of plastic and glass.
The bags were taken to the local country trash & recycling facility where the Plastic, Glass and Cans (all metals) were recycled.
The teams received a warm welcome and thumbs-up from the people they encountered.

    Hello,
We are the Emerson Discrete Automation Team of remote employees connected to the Charlottesville, VA office. We are all interested in improving our environment and are taking advantage of earth Month Challenge to physically get together to clean up debris near the Chesapeake Bay to improve the waterway there.
For this year's project, one part of our team will work a few miles of roadway to prevent trash from washing into the bay and a second team will pick up debris that have already made it to the water.
