April 21 at 7:48 PM“If I live to be 100, I will be alive in the year 2103. When you think about the future today, you don’t think beyond the year 2050. By then I will, in the best case, not even have lived half of my life. What happens next? In the year 2078, I will celebrate my 75th birthday. If I have children or grandchildren, maybe they will spend that day...

April 21 at 5:21 PMPlastic is on track to outpace coal's greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. by 2030 unless we act now to stop the petrochemical industry's planned buildout. I sent a letter to the editor for a regional magazine per the recommendations on one of the learning links and posted some helpful information for family and friends on my social media feeds...

FOOD: Reduce the amount of food you waste, and select locally sourced sustainable foods. WATER: Hang hotel towels to dry and reduce the number of times you request a change of...

April 21 at 5:12 PMI signed up for the local community clean up day at a park that is walking distance from where I live. The event is next weekend, but I do try to pick up trash when I see it there anyway. Looking forward to connecting with my town's volunteer group and help make sure our parks are clean to use for all.

April 21 at 5:10 PMI went to a farmer's market that I haven't been to in many years and purchased the most delicious and fresh fruits and vegetables! I also treated myself to some honey from a local farmer. It's also almost cherry season, so I already made a date with a friend to go cherry picking! Fresh off the trees and so much tastier and cheaper than the...

April 21 at 5:08 PMMy dog has been enjoying EcoChallenge month as much as I have since we have been exploring new dog friendly hiking areas. Living outside of the Oakland/San Francisco area in the suburbs, I am always amazed at how I can feel so connected to nature, see the San Francisco Bay and local bridges all by simply hiking in my area. It's so beautiful here!
