April 24 at 4:13 PMI learned that I already have local elderberry but I want to plant some Red Columbine and Western bleeding hearts

April 22 at 9:26 AMWe do not use an excessive amount of oil at home, home frying is just too much of a hassle, but still have oil to dispose of. When we do dispose, we have been using an empty can laying around but without a lid! Perhaps I should be more cognizant of where that oil goes after I throw it in the trash.

April 22 at 8:52 AMI organized a volunteer opportunity for my company to take part in! We worked with Forest Park Conservation to spend the morning removing an invasive species of english ivy from a section near a trail

April 22 at 8:49 AMWhile traveling for work, I purchased a couple souvenirs! I purchased from 2 local businesses, and only bought items I really liked rather than purchasing a bunch of items I don't need.

April 16 at 10:21 AMIve been better about eating less meat, but tbh I could be even better. When it comes to getting protein, I usually wimp out and get meat. More meatless meals!

April 15 at 9:26 AMOne thing thats great about the PNW is the culture around the use of reuseable bags, specifically at grocery stores. Although I must admit that we havent washed our bags.. like ever. ha.

April 11 at 9:18 AMNot having done an audit, our household has tried really hard to cut down potential waste. We use smaller trash bins inside the house and also a smaller bin that we take to the curb. It kinda forces us to produce less trash. Still tough to commit too!

April 10 at 9:33 AMI learned about my carbon footprint on footprintcalculator.org. Really engaging way to see where you stand. According to this calculator, we would need 3.4 earths if everyone lived like me.. Oof. I though I was doing a good job or at least better job than most but I still have a long way to go!

April 9 at 9:41 AMWe are lucky to have a compost pile in our backyard. Along with unused soil, we will throw our food scraps in and turn it a couple times a month. Tbh, its smelly... butttt it turns into great soil we can use for our planter box every year which is a plus!

April 9 at 8:38 AMSo far so okay! I've been super mindful about sustainable actions and following through with them. Coming back here to log them however, is pretty difficult.
