Sustainable Medfield

I reviewed MA recycling info for a student education session I am conducting later this week. It is important to keep up on current info in one's state and town to optimize what is recycled and not cause any inadvertent contamination. I am also focused on REDUCING what I consume up front!

It's startling to see how much of a carbon footprint my family has! Ugh. We will do better!

I learned I use much more water than I thought. However the questionnaire said my water footprint was low. I will run my dishwasher only when it is completely full.

I used to collect big art books from the major exhibits at the art museum. Now I request the exhibition catalogs from the library and look at them that way. I don't need to own the books, just have access to them.

I believe my small efforts will make a difference! I’m a team member at Church of the Advent’s Creation Care Ministry and I’m preaching on Earth Day Sunday April 21 re: creation care and climate change.

I have purchased a cora ball for starters. And I am already a huge fan consignment and second-hand stores. After learning more about sustainable and eco friendlier textiles, I will do my best to be a mindful consumer on the occassions that I consider buying something new. I've switched over to Dropps household products and Who Gives a Crap bamboo toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels. Also took advantage of their subscription services.
